Research into effective school councils shows that success is only possible with the active support of the Head and Senior Leadership Team. This course has been designed to enable school leaders to have the understanding and confidence to support staff and pupils in the development of an effective whole school council.
Day 1 focuses on enabling factors, needs
analysis and practical implications. During the interim period, participants
will be encouraged to reflect on their learning and put elements into practice,
before revisiting key concepts and developing practical solutions on Day 2.
Participants will:
- Explore how to establish whole school student voice structures to support school improvement
- Gain an understanding of how an effective school council can help meet their curriculum needs and legislative requirements
- Learn how to use their learning to support staff and pupils to develop an inclusive, proactive and successful school council
