Thinking about Waste: Keep in mind the priorities for cutting waste...

First: Reduce
  • For example think about how many ways there are to cut down the amount of paper you use in school, or think about how you can cut down the amount of food that is wasted.

Then: Re-use
  • Use recycled paper in school photocopiers and printers
  • buy refillable ink cartridges for school printers.
  • Encourage the reuse of waste for art projects.
  • Use reusable mugs rather than disposable cups in staff rooms.

Recycle
  • When you’ve done everything to reduce and re-use, see how much you can Recycle. Set up a recycling scheme and make sure everyone knows about it.
