What was going on

School councils brighten up the place Youngsters at a Farington Primary School are sowing the seeds of success. Rose Street certainly lived up to its name as pupils at Farington Primary School demonstrated their green-fingered skills.

What we did

The school council decided they wanted to brighten up the grounds and asked for help from South Ribble Borough Council. Pupils were supplied with everything needed to create their own hanging baskets.

What changed

A spokesperson for the school, said: "The pupils wanted to do something to make the school look nicer and are delighted with their new hanging baskets. They are now keeping an eye on them and helping to keep them looking good."
