This is a problem that a lot of school councillors face, especially soon after an election. I think you should try to do two things:
1). Make sure you do a really good job representing their views, and let them know what you're doing and what has changed because you and the school council are on the case. Hopefully, over time, they will see that your are a good school councillor and be glad you are one, after all they now have a freind in a position that can make some of the changes that they want.
2). Ask them for help and try to get them really involved in the work of the school council. If you are starting a project such as anti-bullying, the environment, the school food or anything else, your school council should create a group of pupils to help to work on it, not just those from the school council but anyone in the school can get involved.
I hope that helps, maybe others people have more suggestions for you.
Good Luck,
Matt
